Moinet Invests in Photovoltaics.

Confectionery manufacturer Moinet has just installed 457 photovoltaic panels at its Bioparc factory in Hauterive, which should cover 50% of its electricity needs. This is also the case at the historic factory (manufacturing fruit pastes, boiled sugars and gums, and producing mineral salts), located 3 kilometers away.

“Through an investment of €250,000, these panels were installed on a 900 m² plot of land, just behind our pastille production plant at the Bioparc. Any surplus production will be sold as a priority to our neighbors located in the business park,” explains Lucas Michaille, Production Manager.

The Moinet factory has been manufacturing Vichy Basin pastilles since 1999. The offices and production area cover 1,440 m² of floor space (1,860 m² in total), spread over two levels. Production is divided into three areas: manufacturing, packaging, and storage. Nearly 850 tons of pastilles are produced each year.

Moinet will also unveil new visuals and packaging for the festivities dedicated to the bicentenary of the Vichy pastille, scheduled to begin on April 12.
