CMI’nov
CMI’nov is specialized in the design and the development of medical devices in the mini-invasive surgery.
Since its creation CMI’nov developed several patents for the development of medical devices in the mini-invasive surgery field and especially in the cardiac surgery.
Its first mean project is MIT’rep, medical device developed in collaboration with Dr VOLA cardiac surgeon at the CHU of St Etienne, and initiator of the MIT’rep’s project. This medical device has been designed for the treatment of the Mitral regurgitation by annuloplasty and by transapical access (Apex of the heart). This innovative process will make easier the surgical handling thanks to a direct access to the mitral valve. This valve is the more difficult to treat because of its central locating in the heart (between the left atrium and the left ventricle).
The mitral regurgitation is a very increasing pathology because of the population ageing. MIT’rep is an ambitious project which has been laureate two times : the first one in 2013 in Emergence Category, and the second one in 2015 in the CREADEV category. These both competitions have been organized by BPI France. Then CMI’nov received the Jury’s award from the “la Fondation pour l’innovation thérapeutique Béatrice Denys (PARIS)”. In the meantime, further projects have been developed such surgical decalcificator for the ablation of aortic valve calcified tissue before the mechanical or biological valve implantation. CMI’nov developed an aortic valve sizer (for the aortic valve transplantation) , trocard port closure for the bariatry surgery.
Other medical devices are still in process with strong intellectual property. The CMI’nov’s business model is to be at the disposal of health professionals needs in order to improve their surgical approaches with appropriated with high technicities medical devices. The CMI’nov’s ambitious is to be world leader in the design and development of medical devices in cardiac surgery but also in other surgeries such, urology, gynecology, visceral.
